We’ve known for a while that the quilt scene in Scotland is hot stuff (as our post last year revealed on the work of the Edinburgh Modern Quilt Guild, founded by our regular contributor Jo Avery). Now we’ve come up with a way for you to explore the awesomeness of the Scottish quilting scene for yourself – take a quilty mini break this Spring! Our friends over at Stitchtopia have got last-minute places left on their Scottish Crafting Escape trip this April.
The Scottish quilt scene is producing really some exciting patchwork. Pictured above: The Modern Quilt Guild‘s Eidos Quilt, designed by Agatha June, pieced by Elizabeth Dackson and quilted by Gina Pina
We hear on the grapevine that the Stitchtopia five-night trip sets off on 29th April, and offers the chance to hang out with quilt pros Pat Archibald and Gillian Cooper, taking in some of the best of Scottish quilting and textiles. Tickets include:
- A trip to the Edinburgh Knitting and Stitching Show
- Workshops with both Gillian Cooper and Pat Archibald
- 5 nights’ accommodation at the Stirling Highland Hotel, half board
- A whirlwind tour of Edinburgh
- A visit to the Fife Folk Museum
- A trip to the Wemyss School of Needlework
