Pat Bravo and The Custard Factory!

Art Gallery Fabrics at The Custard Factory

No it’s not a book about fabric maven Pat Bravo winning a ticket to visit a custard factory – it was our big day out!

Last week the Love Patchwork & Quilting team were lucky to enough to meet Pat Bravo, the leading creative force behind Art Gallery Fabrics! We found out all about Pat Bravo, the history of Art Gallery Fabrics, and what they have in store for all of us in the coming few months. Here are a few pictures from the event…

The Custard Factory, Birmingham, UK

The Custard Factory, Birmingham, UK, is an amazing space. It describes itself as “… THE UK’S LEADING DESTINATION FOR CREATIVE AND DIGITAL BUSINESSES, INDEPENDENT SHOPS AND ALTERNATIVE CULTURE OUTSIDE LONDON.” Not to mention being the coolest collection of buildings in Birmingham!

Before the event started we took the opportunity to admire the projects on display made with Art Gallery Fabrics…

Art Gallery Fabrics garments

We weren’t the only ones who took a fancy to the garments made up with Art Gallery Fabrics cottons and silky soft voiles (you have to touch them to believe it!).

Hexies, chevrons and peter pan collars were on display, made using AGF by the lovely Laura from Just Peachy.

AGF Pat Bravo

Somehow Pat Bravo had time to speak to each and every one of us individually after her presentation. We were a little star struck!

Aided by AGF Creative Director Angie, Pat shows us some sassy sewing with hexies, using AGF fabric (of course!) and a Bernina sewing machine.

AGF Jenny Fox-Proverbs chats to Trudi Woods and Lynne Goldsworthy

Editor Jenny found some time to catch up with quilting genius Trudi Woods and LPQ regular Lynne Goldsworthy. As we chatted we fondled the fabric and understood the AGF strapline – Feel the Difference…

Having fun with fabric

By the end of the day we were desperate to get back to LPQ HQ and start playing with fabric!

It really was an amazing day, giving us the chance to meet other magazines, bloggers and shop owners to chat about our favourite subject in the world. There was even cake – you can’t say fairer than that, now!

Thanks so much to Pat Bravo and her team for having us – see more about Art Gallery Fabrics on their website. They even have a handy locator page to help you find your nearest stockist. We’re also giving a high five to Lara Watson of Mollie Makes for taking many of these fabulous photos – cheers Lara!

Happy Quilting!
