Quilt inspo: Enjoy a colour picnic with Gudrun Sjöden

Ah summer… one of our favourite parts of the year for sun-drenched quilting! It’s the season of portable patchwork – when quilt-as-you-go projects top our must-make lists, we all rush outside to enjoy some EPP in the sun and our annual urge to quilt brighter and bolder as the sunshine inspires us kicks in! Rebecca Bryan talks more about colour palettes in her Colour Theory column in issue 48. But the reasons we love Summer don’t end with our sewing rooms. It’s the season in which we fill our homes and gardens with textiles and ceramics in sunny shades and bold swirly patterns…

Sponsored postGudrun Sjöden‘s new home collection this summer is inspiring us both on and off our quilting tables. The Scandi design brand with an eco-edge is focusing on handicraft and folky artistry this season, and we love it! Their homewares range is filled with happy-making prints, embroidered touches and on-trend tassels. The uplifting Mariebelle collection features table cloths, throws, and decorative pillow cases all in a woven cotton fabric with an ikat print inspired by the flowers from Provence.

If you’re a Pimms or summer cordials fan, check out their selection of artfully produced glassware made from recycled glass. And they’re offering a thrifty price on their Mariebelle throw in organic cotton when you join their colourful Gudrun club!

Countdown: High summer mini collection!

As if we’re not busy enough eyeing up their homewares and putting together Gudrun-inspired colour charts for our next quilt, they’ve also launched a hotly anticipated summer capsule collection of clothes too this week. The new designs feature bold and graphic patterns in breezy organic cotton and, of course, a swim wear range too.
