Hello from team Love Patchwork & Quilting!
We’re the bestselling modern quilting magazine that shares your passion for fabric! We make 13 magazines a year, featuring must-sew projects, essential techniques, interviews, news and reviews from the world of modern quilting. Every issue also comes with a FREE gift (or at least the printed ones do: we haven’t worked out how to make digital binding clips yet, but we’re working on it!).
Meet the team who live and breathe all things quilty…
Alice Hadley, Editor
Alice has worked on LP&Q since its launch. She’s kept super-busy keeping the team on track and seeing that we don’t get buried under the mountain of fabric and quilts that arrive each month (we’re total hoarders!). She’s the creative force behind the mag, working with our wonderful contributors to come up with the fun, fresh projects that feature in every issue. She’s also the office EPP queen, whipping up gorgeous quilts with impeccably embroidered details! Her guilty pleasure is trashy crime drama and she can eat an entire tub of Haagendaz in a single sitting (impressive, right?)
Sarah Griffiths, Senior Technical Editor
Sarah is our resident tech-expert, as at home whipping up quilt samples as she is tackling complex quilt-math with the aid of her trusty calculator, so she’s an essential part of Love Patchwork & Quilting team! She’s got a fabric stash that any quilter would envy (and yes, it’s a stash – not a hoard!) and an almost indecent number of projects on the go at any one time. She’ll often bring finished projects into work and wow the team with her sewing skills. Sarah’s our in-house American, originally from Ohio, she loves a good cup of tea (spearmint’s her favourite) and comes from a long tradition of family quilters.
Tiffany Jackson, Senior Sales Executive
Tiff is sunshine personified and our favourite person to chat to on a Monday morning! As Brand Sales Executive she works with all of our lovely advertisers to make sure that we always have the very best names in LP&Q. She’s no one-trick-pony though – our Tiff is an avid stitcher and is mid-way through a whopping great big double bed spread pieced entirely by hand – only 208 hexies to go! Her Mastermind specialist subject is Harry Potter (no, really) and she’s got a bit of a sweet tooth, in fact coining the phrase “Cake always wins!”. So if you’re interested in advertising in the mag, drop her a line.
Lorna Slessor, Production Editor
Quilt pro and wordsmith Lorna keeps the LPQ ship running smoothly: scanning our projects for typos, scouring instagram for news ideas and making sure we get to the printers on time. If she’s not at work, sewing or watching reality BBQ shows, she’s probably trying to find somewhere that sells an all-day brunch, because “breakfast for dinner = the dream”. She’s from a family of sewists who never finish their quilts – so claims it’s not her fault if she follows suit. She’s guilty of buying novelty fabrics that she knows she’ll never cut up. Her particular favourites are lobsters, llamas and old ladies with watering cans.
Kit Cheung, Art Editor
Foodie, fashion-lover and appreciator of beautiful blooms, Kit is the brains behind the gorgeous styling of the quilts that you see in our magazine. She was the creative force behind our colour-popping new look this Spring and prettifies our pages so every one looks the best it can be! She’s has some major prop-detective skills and is our best dressed team member (she has the unofficial award to prove it!). When she’s not in work, Kit can probably be found in the gym, hanging out with her sister Wai or discovering the best places to eat and explore around Bristol. Her instagram account is a thing of beauty!
Zoë Williams, Digital Editor
When she’s not immersed in her instagram feed, Zoe can be found buried under her fabric stash, much to the bemusement of her long-suffering quilt widow, husband Ross. Owner of a rainbow array of nail polishes (with one to match every cover for hand modelling), she’s a keen quilter who has 5 or 6 projects on the go at any one time. She’s currently torn between hand stitching a never-ending EPP quilt top and her new jelly roll chevrons quilt. Her other main loves are her children, cheese-based snacks, pub quizzes and Pinterest.
