Hello from team Love Patchwork & Quilting!
Love Patchwork & Quilting is the bestselling modern quilting magazine that shares your passion for fabric! We publish 13 times a year, featuring must-make projects, essential techniques, interviews, news and reviews from the world of modern quilting. Every issue also comes with a FREE gift (or at least the printed ones do: we haven’t worked out how to make digital binding clips yet, but we’re working on it!).
Meet the team who live and breathe all things quilty…
Alice Blackledge, Editor
Alice has also worked on LP&Q since its launch. She’s kept super-busy keeping the team on track and seeing that we don’t get buried under the mountain of fabric and quilts that arrive each month (Jen and Sarah are both total hoarders!). She’s the creative force behind the mag, working with our wonderful contributors to come up with the fun, fresh projects that feature in every issue. She can often be found tracking down the best new quilt designers and planning beautifully-styled photo shoots. She’s also the office EPP queen, whipping up gorgeous quilts with impeccably embroidered details! Her guilty pleasure is trashy crime drama and she can eat an entire tub of Haagendaz in a single sitting (impressive, right?)
Sarah Griffiths, Senior Technical Editor
Sarah is our resident tech-expert, as at home whipping up quilt samples as she is tackling complex quilt-math with the aid of her trusty calculator, so she’s an essential part of Love Patchwork & Quilting team! She’s got a fabric stash that any quilter would envy (and yes, it’s a stash – not a hoard!) and an almost indecent number of projects on the go at any one time. She’ll often bring finished projects into work and wow the team with her sewing skills. Sarah’s our in-house American, originally from Ohio, she loves a good cup of tea (spearmint’s her favourite) and comes from a long tradition of family quilters. It’s Sarah’s hands that you see if our tech feature every month, and when she’s not being photographed she has a definite penchant for fancy nail varnish.
Kate is our yoga-practising, happy-making Production Editor. She works on all the features in the mag, so next time you settle down with a cuppa to read about your favourite designer or lust after a gorgeous fabric collection, you can thank lovely Kate! She spends most of her days discovering the best upcoming fabric releases and resisting the urge to buy all of the beautiful things she sources for the news pages. Compared to the rest of the team, Kate is a bit of a quilting newbie, but she’s fast catching up with beautifully neat EPP stitching (watch out Alice!) and a project list as long as her arm. When she’s not crafting, Kate can be found walking her Doberman Juno on The Downs or wandering around Harvey Nichols, hoping to grow her handbag collection.
Jenny Fox-Proverbs, Senior Editor
Jenny has been editor of Love Patchwork & Quilting since we launched in October 2013 (has it really been that long?) and now is the editor of our new sister mag, Today’s Quilter, as well as overseeing LP&Q. Before taking on the world of craft mags, Jenny had an illustrious career commissioning craft books, and has worked with some of the biggest names in the craft world. At home Jenny has two much-loved, if rather elderly, cats and loves nothing more than cuddling up on the sofa with her fur-babies, a good murder mystery and a jar of nutella!
Tiffany Jackson, Sales Executive
Tiff is sunshine personified and our favourite person to chat to on a Monday morning! As Brand Sales Executive she works with all of our lovely advertisers to make sure that we always have the very best names in LP&Q. She’s no one-trick-pony though – our Tiff is an avid stitcher and is mid-way through a whopping great big double bed spread pieced entirely by hand – only 208 hexies to go! Her Mastermind specialist subject is Harry Potter (no, really) and she’s got a bit of a sweet tooth, in fact coining the phrase “Cake always wins!”. So if you’re interested in advertising in the mag, drop her a line.
When she’s not immersed in instagram feed or hiding away filming our latest video issue preview, Zoe can be found buried under her fabric stash (much to the bemusement of her long-suffering quilt widow – husband Ross). Owner of a rainbow array of nail polishes (with one to match every cover for hand modelling), she’s a keen quilter who has 5 or 6 projects on the go at any one time. She’s currently torn between hand stitching a never-ending EPP quilt top and her new jelly roll chevrons quilt. Her other main loves are cheese, wine, pub quizzes and Pinterest.
